Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out if you have a question that isn't answered here. We would love to hear from you!

Counselling is a collaborative experience with someone who is willing to journey with you through some of life's hardest moments. Counselling is an opportunity to connect with a  qualified mental health professional who can provide you with the skills, understanding and space to explore your experiences and how you can move towards the life you want. We have clinicians who specialise in many different mental health conditions as well as various significant life events.

Yes it is. There are certain limits to confidentiality due to current privacy laws and these will be explained in your intake paperwork and first session. You are welcome to ask as many questions as you need to, to understand confidentiality and the limits to this.

Yes, we offer both! Both of our counsellors offer telehealth sessions where you can have you counselling or supervision session in the privacy of your own home. Alyssa also currently offers face to face sessions in Norwest (Sydney North-West) if you would prefer.

There are a few different ways to be sure if you have found the right counsellor for you. You can read more about it in one of our blog posts here. Overall though, your counsellor should help you feel at ease, feel heard and understood and be willing to take on feedback about what you find most helpful. As mentioned above, counselling should be a collaborative experience where you and your counsellor are working together to improve your quality of life and working towards your goals.

Yes, there are lots of different rebates available for counselling. Some of our counsellors are recognised with Medicare and can provide a Medicare rebate for counselling. Additional rebates can also be found through your private health insurance as well as other funding programs such as Victim Services, NDIS and others. Please contact us to find out what rebates you may be eligible for.

Yes, we know that sometimes life happens and you're not able to make your session. We ask for 48hrs notice where possible otherwise a cancellation fee does apply. However, in unexpected, emergency situations please contact us about the possibility of the fee being waived.

Yes, we do currently offer sessions outside of business hours. Please note that we do not currently offer weekend sessions and some of our clinicians do charge a higher fee for after hours session.
